this coming soon page is coming soon

i've decided to design and build my website to fit the template of a moleskin sketchbook. this is a coming soon notice of the coming soon page (i like to procrastinate, what can i say?) i started sketching out a very basic layout for a website, and decided to turn it into a coming soon page as well. i guess it gives you a little insight into the kinds of things i try to plan out at the beginning of a website design, like how accessible are the admin controls, how easy it will be for people to go from page to page, and some basic technical notations for when it comes to coding.

i've always wanted to try creating a completely hand drawn/photographed web site. i'm excited for the challenge to try to stuff as much usability and features cohesively into such small dimensions like that of a sketchbook.

the first release will be a very simple 1 page blog. you click either side of the sketchbook to go to the previous page or the next page, and that will be about it. then once that's up i'll start working on a user login and comments. then i'll start adding in other things like downloads (wallpapers, designer resources, etc) and anything else i fancy and think i can miniaturize into the site.

don't worry, i'm going to try to keep drawing regularly and keep getting new work up on this old thing until i get the new one up, so check back soon!

I just realized I don't have a pulse

wow. this is impressive. i'm out of bed and awake, successfully set up a scanner (hey, plugging it in is hard), cleaned a little, and am finally posting some sketches. all before noon!

without classes, i tend to fall out of any productive daily rhythm i might have obtained, so for the past month i have encountered some major struggles when attempting to escape the soft, warm prison of my bed before the clock strikes pm, so i'm proud of myself today. enough talking, here are some sketches.

the next best thing

I'm hard at work on creating my own site rather than using blogger, so hopefully before too long, that will be up. Unfortunately that means I don't have as much time to work on projects in the meantime. Hence the sabbatical I'm on from this right now. I did start something pretty fun yesterday, but it still needs a few more hours of work before I feel good about posting it, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, here are a few good songs and/or music videos.

Hey everyone! Yet another image-less post! I sure know how to keep you interested, eh?

Time for news though...

I have been hard at work on some new illustrations I am hoping to make greeting cards with. I will have them up soon, I just haven't had access to a scanner for a while because I've been sick for the past week. Which brings me to another point, who wants to buy me a scanner? No? Anyway, yes you heard correctly: greeting cards. Kinda lame right? WRONG. Just wait until you see them. THEN you can call them lame.

But in all seriousness, I am hard at work at doing the research and preliminary "stuff" into registering for an actual LLC business license and am planning on getting a custom domain and building a fully functional website so I can start providing art and design resources as well as start selling products, like, say... greeting cards. I am planning on printing them myself, so I should be able to offer them to you at a pretty reasonable price (say $3 or so with free shipping?).


I have one more day of classes before Thanksgiving break, so expect some images of these so called "cards" to be popping up sometime soon. They are pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Which I do say. Because I made them so of course I think they are cool. But really, I would use these to express to people how I feel towards them on various occasions. No joke.
